Where can I find cheap birth control pills? I made an appointment at Planned Parenthood in December, drove out there (and hour and a half) and then had to pay $60 for ONE month and was told I had to come up there every month and pay $60 again! to get the next months!

If you have insurance that helps! I never went to planned parenthood but I thought it was free if you were below a certain income level? Some cheap ones to try on insurance are microgestin, kariva, and loestrin 24! These are the only birth controls I can afford on my insurance plan (we have horrible prescription coverage) and the only ones I have used besides yasmin (which cost me $50 every month w/insurance)... It cost me $10 bucks a month, they work fine! If you dont have insurance then that is a whole other situation! Nothing is cheap without insurance!

Wow...when I was a teenager (many moons ago...) and I went to Planned Parenthood, my pills were dirt cheap! I think I even got some for free and they would give me months at a time so I didn't have to keep coming back...my, how times have changed.

I'm assuming that you are a young girl? Perhaps you could switch to something that you only need every 3 months, like th Nuva Ring or the Patch or the Depo shot? Costs at Planned parenthood must have gone up in the 15 years since I've been there...

Good luck, Hon. You know what birth control is free though? Abstinence!!!

If you do not have health insurance there is no such thing as cheap birth control pills. I would recommend using condoms which are furnished at no charge through planned parenthood along with a spermicide in case of breakage. If you are wanting birth control for other issues pertaining to your period or sever cramping during your cycle I would recommend seeing your doctor. If the man is not willing to wear a condom they do have female condoms.

This is a serious and a very good question. I read the response from most people and they are indeed poking fun at the question. You need to contact your social agencies in your area to inquire how you can make the process affordable. You are doing the right thing to consider birth control to avoid an unwanted pregnancy so there are outreach places who will listen to you to offer assistance as to how you can make your life a little less stressful in this department. Check your local listings, flyers or whatever to get some names and numbers and call around. Good luck!!

I live in FL and use the depo provera injection (generic)...it's just under $60 for a shot which lasts for 3 months (or approx $20/mo which is what I was paying for the pill a decade ago when I used that).

I order mine through Canada. I use the Yasmin 28 pills, occasionally I order the generic, they are the same pills just big price difference, 3 months are $74, 6 months $104. Depends on what you are taking now. Plus, most are no prescription, so you can change the type you use if it doesn't work for your system, (ie: irregular month or cramps)

Planned Parenthood usually gives these away free and you can make a donation in where I live.

But don't fool with "The Cheap Pill". It messes up your body. If you are going for the cheap ones, you will mess up your system. Trust me, tried it and now I have endometriosis.

Now I'd rather give a million bucks in having a baby.

It depends where you are from. I live in Texas so I can easily take a short drive to Mexico and buy cheap birth control without a prescription.

I was going to do the exact same thing, since I don't have insurance right now. They wanted $54 for exam and pills and about the same amount each month for pills. So I said no. Use condoms. I've not had one problem so far and it's been since October. I recommend Trojan (whichever ones you like of course) but the name brand I recommend. They're only like $4-6.99 or so, and you can't beat that!

Usually planned parenthood goes by your income or if you are a student usually you are only suppose to pay 10-20. I would ask them why is it so much?
