to start my truck has aftermarket cat-back, msd system and k&n. this truck is the carb version. at warmup the idle will vary around 2000 or 1500. once warm it will drop back down to 900. i will take off and once i stop the idle drops down to 500 while running very rough. and now for the tricky part. i can hold the clutch while moving and it rpm will drop to normal running conditions. but the minute i stop it goes to 500 and rough again. today my fuel/air ratio gauge shut off too. o2 sensor? any ideas will help

That is weird if you just put the brake on just siting there does it drop the idle maybe a internal leak in the brake booster.

O2 sensor is a possibility...

However when you say that at warm-up the idle will vary around 2000 or 1500 are you saying the idle jumps up and down? or that it slowly drops from 2000 to 1500? If there is a variation, meaning it jumps back and forth between 1500 and 2000, it's more likely you've got a leak in the intake system some where. Either in the manifold or gasket.

If it's holding idle stead, then that's fine. I would advise cleaning out the carburator first. Make sure your choke plate is clean and moving freely.

if it dose in elementary words once you % up off the engine at the same time as is malicious software and attempt to start up it in jiffy. the most in all risk reason will be leaking gasoline injector-s, extreme gasoline in combustion chambers will reason the engine run wealthy and stall, on the instantaneous you are able to favor to have some black smoke from tail pipe also.
