I normally only reheat things once. If you have a lot left, just take out what you want and either put it in a small pot or in a bowl in the microwave and reheat single portions.
My husband reheats things multiple times though, and he's never gotten sick. He said he notices that with meats especially, after being reheated twice, it changes the texture of it.

Just as you shouldn't freeze/thaw/refreeze, you shouldn't heat/cool/reheat/cool/reheat. The more time your food spends between 40 and 140 degrees F, the more likely you are to get sick. If you have a bunch of leftovers, just reheat the portion you want and NOT the whole thing.

i'd say that if it was just for you then yes, so if you do get sick from it you won't have made anyone else ill.Generally chicken shouldn't be reheated but when i was young my mum would make a soup from the left over roast chicken on a monday and that would be kept on the go for at least three days where she would just keep adding more ingredients.

You can definately reheat soup a second time. You might want to do it on the stove instead of in the micro for more even heating.

Oh, technically you shouldn't according to food safety. But I do it all the time and don't get sick. Just keep the leftovers refrigerated and heat as normal. I've eaten leftovers for 4-5 days.

Sure, there is no problem, unless they have been stored for a really long time (a week or more) or were not stored properly to begin with. When I make soup I put half in individual containers and freeze them, the other half I store in the fridge to heat up for lunch or dinner that week.

You can, but I've found that whatever it is that you're heating most often turns all mushy and bland. My answer is trash 'em.
