You sound young. He could very well be a bad influence on you. Do you like him just because of the "bad boy" image? Think about this before you get more involved with him. Would your parents approve?

Scared of what? The ill-effects of second-hand smoke?
If so, you have reason to be scared. Research has conclusively shown that second-hand smoke can detrimentally effect the health of non-smokers.
I hope you don't mind having your clothes, hair, home and car smell like stale cigarette smoke.
And while he might be "hott" now, take a look at the faces of long-term smokers. They ain't pretty. Smoking tobacco causes premature aging (especially wrinkles and deep, deep lines) and some studies show that cigs contribute to sexual disfunction, especially in men.

What do you mean, what should you do? Are you asking if you should still like him? Why not? You dont have to be around him when he smokes, right? I dont think you should stop talking to him, unless you CAN NOT tolerate any smoking at all....then you should probably leave him alone. One thing you dont want to start telling him that he has to stop....he is grown. So you should just make the decision of if you want to deal or not? If I were you and he is nice, etc like you say and how hard that is to find....? Stay with him, hun!! Good Luck!!!

Trust me, dump him unless he quits! You will start smoking, your hair probably smells like smoke and your clothes. His breath is gross and his teeth stained. I was with a three packer a day and soon I was a 1 pack a day. I quit when I left him! The old saying is " You put a sick person and a well person in a room after a while you let them out and you have two sick people" It is hard to make a person with a bad habit change to a good habit if they don't have it in them. Have you asked him to quit? Give him the old ultimatum!

Perhaps you need to focus on what kind of guy he is, instead of how "hot" he is. The boy smokes, so there is a big mark against him. You should also realize that his skin is going to start to get tough. Maybe you should get to know him before deciding how much you like him. Thank you.

First thing is that you need to accept it if you choose to go out with him. You can not start dating him and then throw a temper tantrum later expecting him to quit for you. If he chooses to quit because he knows you don't like it then cool but not because it's an ultimatum. Does that make sense?
The point is, you can't expect a person to change. You can hope for sure! Just don't get into the relationship expecting at some point to dish out an ultimatum to get your way. -Of course perhaps you wouldn't do that. :-)

Just start walking away when he smokes. And tell him you don't mind that he smokes you just don't want the second hand smoke. And eventually he'll start walking away on his own to smoke if he respects you and cares anything at all for you and the way you feel.

Well, it depends on whats more important: being with this guy or not being with a smoker. I know smoking is unhealthy and all, but maybe he'll quit, and even if he doesn't it doesn't necessarily mean that he's not the right person for you. It's up to you to decide...

You'll jsut have to decide if it is worth it or not. Never give him an ultimatum (It's me or the smoking) cuz I guarantee you will lose. He'll give it up when he is ready, but it is okay to say "I am not going ot kiss you after you smoke because it's gross." I did this with one of my ex girlfriends, and guess what? She stopped smoking so much!

Unfortunately most people smoke these days. It's not really considered a big deal but if u feel so strongly about it ask him to quit for you. He probably wont so u may want to move on.
