I had bronchitis and was on antibiotics....after about 7 days of that, I started getting major stomach cramps every time I ate. This lasted 9 days! I am only now starting to get some relief. What did I have?

Antibiotics can affect the good bacteria in the body as well as the bad, you probably had a touch of enteritis because the natural good bacteria in the gut got killed off too. When you take antibiotics, eat at least 1 tub of live yogurt every day, it helps keep the good bacteria alive and functioning.

There are some antibiotics that do have side effects. I was taking Doxicyclene for adult acne (it wasn't severe, but not cureable with otc med's). One of the side effects was chest pain/heartburn and man did it ever flare!! I had a hard time eating sometimes. So it may not have been something you had, it may have been just a side effect. Talk to your doctor or his/her nurse. If your doctor can't give you a strait answer, ask the nurse.

The antibiotics probably messed up the fauna (good vs. bad bacteria etc.) of your intestines. Take some probiotics to get it back in check or eat yogurt. It has acidophilus in it it which is "good bacteria."

a law suit or your money back at least. The doctor should be reported so ohip can have our money returned. The doc did'nt do the job. And the drug needs to be tested. What does the FDA have to say about it.
