This guy saw my pic in our year book (his cousin was in my class) and he wanted to date me, since I didn't knew who he was I didn't agree to go out with him to the movies but I agreed that he will drive me from a wedding ceremony we both attended to the reception. The guy was nice and all but I didn't find him to my taste. Now he keeps telling me how beautiful I am and how he wants to take me out and I have no idea how to tell him no without sounding rude or like I "used" him only for the ride.

Let him know how nice he was to take you to the reception, thank him for the compliment, and just be honest and say that you are not interested in anything serious at this time. If he takes offense at the ride, then he is a very insecure and shallow person amd thats on him, not you

Tell him that you really like him as a friend and you enjoy spending time with him but he's moving a little too fast for you and you're not really looking for a relationship right now. Tell him you have too much going on in your life at the moment and it just wouldn't work out between the two of you right now. Just let him down easy and use every excuse you can think of... He'll be hurt but at least you won't come off as a *****.

If you were both going to the same place then you didn't use him for that he was going any way, so don't feel bad about that. Tell him that you are not interested he will get over it and he will know that he doesn't have a chance. that is better than not telling him and him thinking that if he keeps trying that you may give in.

The nice thing is to be honest with him. Tell him he's a nice guy but you don't feel that spark. If he argues with you, tell him you think he only likes the way you look not who you are and that you like to get to know someone better before dating them. If he still argues you should go out once with him, tell him his persistence is a real turn off and no, thank you.

Then stick to your guns.

Rejection is never easy (or it shouldn't be)...simply tell you him appreciate his interest but don't feel the same way.

Just be honest...that's better than stringing him along or going out with him when you really don't want to.

You didn't "use" him for a ride, apprarently he wanted to drive you (from your post) and that helped you get to know him enough to know he's not someone you are interested in dating.

I would tell him, that you had a great time at the reception.."thanks" but you don't want to pursue a relationship with him.

Believe me, it's better to do now rather than later when he is stalking you. Sometimes men confuse politeness with interest, you have to be pretty blunt to get your point across.

say it nicely. you know there is a saying; "its not what you say but how you say it". if he really likes you or cares for you then he'll only want whats best for you so he should understand. tell him that even though you don't want a relationship you can can have a friendship which i think is the better choice any day. you can get to know each other and move on from there. i really hope he understands you*

tell him flat out you are interested in, or bet yet plan to start a relationship with, someone else. people look for that window of hope, and cling on to it. if he feels he has a chance of getting with you, he might be beating himself up about it. he might think he is not good enough, and must then try harder. make sure you cut it off at the root, quickly. this will make it less painful for both of you.

i get like this sometimes...i would like it if this is how girls acted. instead of not saying anything and trying to ignore me until i give up, after what is sometimes months of bleeding my heart out.

Be honest, say that you are flattered and appreciated his kindness but at this time you are not really looking for a relationship with him. Tell him you are sorry that you do not feel more, but right now you feel more comfortable if you just remain acquiantances and leave it at that. Send it in an email if you need to, but make the point CLEAR.
