And of course christianity has nothing to do with the current conflict in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Darfur... Not to mention christianity is still working off the human rights abuse tab it worked up during the inquisition...

The whole argument is specious as there are many, many other factors involved... By breaking it down into a strictly religious argument, you are hugely over-simplifying the case. Then again, religions have a history of doing that...

ok i think you should were taking area in too a lot call of accountability... at the starting up, China & Russia could no longer North Korea's allies, they hate North Korea. China & Russia are in the United international places with The U.S. If North Korea declares war on america, then... strong, so long North Korea. If Iran attacks Israel, that are with assistance from technique of a few distance the stupidest element they could do, should be defeated with assistance from utilizing Israel. Israel is via a few distance honestly the most suitable center eastern united states immediately, and ought to defeat Iran via U.N. help. by the way, Iran ought to now no longer attack Israel, Iran is regularly occurring with of it will be defeated. in the journey that they wanted to attack Israel, they could have done it. Iran in simple terms argues about what Israel does. So in truth, if N.ok. attempts to attack South Korea, then the U.N. ought to invade North Korea and grab it. North Korea doesn't have any help from any united states, noticeably now no longer Russia or China. China hates North Korea. Iran ought to now no longer carry out a touch element both. do not advise those form of concerns that both out of three maximum major powers (China and Russia) ought to crew up with this kind of disgusting united states (NK).

Does anyone find it striking that Afghanistan is largely theistic and has a horrid record of human rights violations?

I think you have it backwards. I think atheism has an appeal to people who intend to treat their fellow human being poorly (or who put an inherent trust in the goodness of their fellow man as in communism) because no one is looking over their shoulder to make sure they behave.

But being a theistic country doesn't meant that it won't treat people horribly.

It's very striking.

Compare that to the Czech Republic or Sweden, which actually are full of atheists who are atheists by choice as opposed to technically atheist by virtue of being forced to be by current leaders...

When was the last time Sweden got on a human rights watch list?

By the way, check your statistics:

South Korea has more atheists than North, so your point is the very OPPOSITE.

Traditionally, religion North Korea primarily consists of Buddhism and Confucianism, as well as, though to a lesser extent, Christianity and syncretic Chondogyo (Religion of the Heavenly Way). However, ever since the rise of communism, free religious activities no longer exist as the government sponsors religious groups only to create an illusion of religious freedom

Oh my goodness.

So you don't think that the crusades were a horrid record of human rights violations. Or how about the Holocaust.

And by the way, most North Koreans call their official religion the cult of Kim Il Sung, which they say is almost identical to Christianity......so um..yeah, figure that one out.

Look around you. America is also guilty of committing Human Rights Violations, in the form of abortion, but it isn't atheists who lead the pack. According to the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform:

UNITED STATES

Number of abortions per year: 1.37 Million (1996)
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 3,700

Who's having abortions (religion)?
Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.; Catholic women account for 31.3%, Jewish women account for 1.3%, and women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions. 18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as "Born-again/Evangelical".

Wow. That is strinking. You know, considering that half of Europe is atheistic, and they seem to have a lower crime rate than America's Bible Belt. And better health care. ANd a better educational system. And.....

I think I made my point. Of course, you gloss right over your history, forgetting to mention how noble the Crusades were, how well Hitler was at carrying out his Final Solution - all with the help of your God. Nice job!

I also wish to point out that these human rights violations are in no way being carried out in the name of Atheism. Are Bush's human rights violations against the inmates at Guantanamo carried out in the name of God?? Why yes, they are!!!
