One of the responders says ....Wait for warmer weather? Is that a joke? The true anti-war protesters only come out when the weather is nice? What does that say about their commitment? I laugh at them....that's my freedom of speech in operation. And yes...I am a former military officer and I have been to Iraq.

B esides the fact that Jane is still looking real good at this stage of her life I really don't think that her life as a protester still exists. I never agreed with what she did in Vietnam, and I have never agreed with her stance. What needs to be remembered is that because of us warriors she still has the right to speak her piece even tho' we don't agree with her. I don't regard those that protest this war as "anti-American" I think they are every bit as American as those who choose to follow this present administration. Many people don't go out and walk in protest marches due to a variety of reasons. When around 63% of those polled are against this war it should make the 37% remaining for it to stop and think. I for instance am against this war however I have never walked in a protest march. I have fought in war and have seen my Brothers die and many that survived are either physically wounded or mentally wounded.
When lies and deceit send our fine troops into harms way we should ALL challenge those that put them into that position. By the way did I mention that Jane still looks real good!!

The liberals will spin it saying 100,000,000s show up and only 2 counter protesters show up.
The reality being more like 30,000 thousand show up and less than thousand hung around.
There isn't the big ground swell for anti-war as liberals claim to be.
If so the 06 elections would have been a major sweep instead of the whimper they got.
Oh Free Speech gotta love it they excerise more than they are willing to give to those who counter them.

Aren't we fighting terror not communism? Last I knew the Cold War ended about a decade ago.
Protesting is American and the freedom to express one's self is one of the things that defines us being a democracy.

Why dump on Jane? We were not legally at war in 'Nam, and she has the right to take whatever side she chooses.
And when Jane went to 'Nam, she went on her own dime, not paid for by the American taxpayers.
If you want to criticize Jane for doing what she thought was right (even if she was wrong, as I believe she was), come back and tell me about it when you have paid your own way to fight in some cause you believe in.
If you don't know that this is possible, look into the American heroes who went to fight Franco's Fascism in Spain in 1938 - and paid their own way.
Three thousand brave men of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Nine hundred of them died in action. And they didn't b*tch and wail for public support or criticize those who disagreed with fighting Fascism. They went on their own dime without taxpayer funding and fought like heroes because they believed in the cause even when America was willing to cut a deal with Hitler.
America is free and strong to the degree that we accept the right of each person to form their own conclusions and commit themselves to support what they perceive as correct. Even when assholes like LBJ and Nixon think otherwise.

Sounds as though you are listening more to propoganda than to the factual information that there were thousands of demonstrators across Canada and the United States who held rallies on Saturday to protest the fourth anniversary of the U.S.-led war in Iraq.

International A.N.S.W.E.R. got pwned.
And vast majority of the gathering of eagles were military veterans, so our radical friends can just spare us the "chickenhawk" strawman.
