Or can i get a replacement from the store.I pretty much know what im doing, but im not an expert or anything. Is a malfunction or not? It's hooked up to 4 gauge wire and is outputing to two bazooka 10 in. subs. I had all the settings on the amp were at the lowest . I used low frequency outputs on the subs. I also double checked the ground and power input(+12v).

AMP SPECS:Power Acoustik Lx2 1000 2 channel 1000W amplifier

1000W peak output, bridged

280W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 2 ohms

220W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 4 ohms

560W RMS (continuous) x 1

Ask me for more information if needed

you probably shorted it, making it your fault.

make sure you didnt blow an in-amp fuse. Many amps (although i doubt this one, because Power Acoustik is pathetic), have built in fuses to prevent this.

dunno if you did this or not, but make sure you have the in-line power fuse (the one you put near the battery) disconnected when installing an amp. After everything is done, then reinstall the fuse.

there is a chance the amp might not be fried. a similar thing happened to me with my infinity amp and subs. I hooked them up and they were playing perfect for like a min then the wires were touching.. so they didn't work. so if there is power running to the amp then check your subs wire. Also you may have blown a fuse when hooking up the amp if you didn't disconnect the ground from the battery be for hooking up the power, and ground wire to the amp.

Did you have an inline fuse holder? That would cause the amp to possibly fry. You wouldnot be able to get replacements from the store.

You hooked the input of the amp to the low freq output on the subs?????

That doesn't sound good.......

Did smoke come out? Did it do anything at all?
Regardless, take it back. Dont let them know you feel it was your fault. Tell them you wired it up per instructions and nothing at all happened. NOTHING HAPPENED. NO POWER.

It sounds like something is touching your positive fire wire and it's grounding somewhere along the positive wire.
