My hubby decided to stay in the military because of the perks, we/ I HAVE to have Tri-care we can't afford my medical coverage in the civilian world and he will probably end up career military for that very reason. Besides how many other careers can claim that you'll always have a roof over your head and medical care. Not many. Sure base housing may not be great (We live off base for now) but it is housing with the utilities and maintaince taken care of. How many people can get any medical care inculding comsectic procedures done at completely no cost to them? Not many, the money isn't great but if you start small and are careful with your money and don't allow yourself to fall into a lot of debt than it's a pretty good life. It's been good to my family. Oh and the military star card is AWESOME.

If you're talking military perks, then I have to say I like the discount you get at the commissaries. Most things are much cheaper than regular grocery stores. Money isn't going to come until you're a higher rank, just like any other job you start out at. I don't like how housing is seperated by officers and enlsited. I do like not paying tax at the exchange. Is this what you're looking for?

We don't get paid the best, but, my families medical, and denatl are taking care of. I guess I like the perks more. The free health care, the rec centers, gyms, autoshops, sports teams you can be on. All that I just listed is free, too.
