There are no members of the Bush clan in uniform in Iraq. And, to be completely honest do you really want there to be? Can you imagine the twins on the front line? I mean look at W, on June 4th 2003 he stated "I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things." Do we really want more people not thinking about why they do things? I'm actually slightly glad that there aren't more Bush family members involved in Iraq.

You know that is a question I have also asked, I think they may have 2ND and third cousins possibly but I don't think any of the immediate family is there, Unlike the Royal Family in Great Britain who are sending Prince Harry to Iraq. Harry has some gumption too, he says he will quit the military if his unit goes to Iraq and he can't go. You gotta love that red hair..
To the Conservatives answering on here/ why HAVEN'T Bush's family volunteered to serve their country??????

Zero. While his father was a pilot in WWII, George W. Bush was able to avoid serving other than in the Texas National Guards privileged unit, but none of the Bush immediate family members have chosen to be involved with the current war in Iraq.

Thats a stupid question. Thats like me saying to you do you think saving the environment is a noble cause? If so how are you saving the environment? What changes have you made? Have you replaced your regular lightbulbs with compact florescent? Do you own a hybrid vehicle? Have you put solar pannels on your house, do you own a windmill? Why not, you think saving the environment is a noble cause right? And why do the poor go fight, because there is a decent and steady paycheck in it. You don't hear them complaining when there isn't a war and they are collecting the cash for 3 weeks a year training and 1 weekend a month service.

Even as a liberal, I have weigh in on this question...
You have to take into consideration the President's family and the responsibilities that bring. If his daughters, who are under secret service protection as demanded by law, were to actually enlist or become officers in the military (as they both have degrees, they are qualified to be officers), the logistics of just keeping the secret service around them would be ridiculous. Plus the fact that, similar to Price Harry of Wales, them going into a combat zone simply paints a big red bullseye on them and any of the troops they happen to be around. It's just not realistic.
I do agree, however, that there are a lot of folks out there who talk a good game as far as Iraq goes who would never consider going themselves or allowing a close relative to go.

Doesn't really matter now does it? We have an ALL VOLUNTEER FORCE. I believe the fight against breast cancer is a noble cause but I am sure not going to leave my good job and comfy life to go fight for it.

No member of Bush's extended family is in Iraq, or even in uniform at this time.
For those who say that it is a volunteer army--history has shown that the sons of Presidents volunteered to serve during time of war:
Abraham Lincoln-Robert Todd Lincoln was a captain on U.S. Grant's staff.
Theodore Roosevelt--Archie and Theodore Jr. volunteered for duty in WWI, and Archie was killed. Theodore Jr. remained in the military and died during WWII, earning the Congressional Medal of Honor in the process. (TR volunteered himself for service during the Spanish-American war)
FDR--all his sons served during WWII
Eisenhower-his son John served in the military, as did Ike himself.
LBJ-his son in law, Charles Robb, was a Marine in Viet Nam.
Historically, the American people have expected the President and his family to set an example for the people and to go themselves or send their children into battle.

If you have not served yourself - how can you criticize another for not doing something you did not do?
At least President Bush put on a uniform - you have not even done that.
