No sweetie it is not ok to have a friend on the side. how would you feel if your bf had a female friend on the side. nine times out of ten when someone has a friend on the side it turns into something more than that. if you don't want it done to you don't do it to him or others.

A "friend" on the side? To "talk" to? Right...just the fact that your asking this question proves that your thinking about more. Maybe feeling a little guilty? You know in your heart what is right and what is wrong.

You can have friends besides your boyfriend... and it's okay if he's a guy... but it's only okay if your only intentions are to be friends and nothing more and the guy knows that. But I agree with the first answerer, you're either young and confused about it, or you're getting a "friend" as a back-up boyfriend.

Yes, but make sure your boyfriend knows about it. Come forward, and let him know that you have friends, and he is a friend you can talk to.

Depends on the level of friendship. Just don't tell this friend anything personal about your BF. It would be a violation of trust,

Sure. As long as you keep that relationship strictly platonic and you boyfriend is comfortable with it. If he's not, you may want to reevaluate how you and your friend act towards each other.

I think the answer would depend on the definition of "friend" and what level that would entail.
