I mean c'mon people. When you want to say something, do you give a speech and then see if some other people can recall your ideas properly 60 years later?

jesus didnt write anything because he was just a (god whats the word) someone who wanted to change things...

he wasnt the son of god... he was just a good guy trying to make things better...

plus, look at the bible... the flaws... how many different interpretations... i wouldnt write anything either because people would find flaws in it and take it in a different meaning.

It was important at that time that people not be self witnesses. Paul is a self witness. He writes about himself and states that other people witnessed the things he writes about. But since he is the author, how do you know he is not just lying? There are no outside witnesses except what he writes himself. It is like when you go to court, you can't be a witness to yourself, it has no credibility.

In the Gnostic book The Pistis Sophia, Jesus states that God has appointed 3 scribes and where 2 or 3 of those scribes agree it can be taken as testimony. Moses states: "By two or three witnesses shall every matter be established." The three witnesses are Philip, Thomas, and Matthew.

danksprite4, I think you mean the Nag Hammadi Library, not the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls don't mention Jesus.

He probably couldn't afford it. Tools for writing (scrolls, papyrus, ink, etc.) was very expensive at the time. As the disciples died off, the urgency to record His teachings increased.

Also, Jesus told the disciples that he would return. They thought that meant in a few months or something, so there was no reason for them to write stuff down (imminent parousia). Then, they started dying off, and realized that Jesus wasn't coming back anytime soon, so they had to write stuff down (delayed parousia). You can tell the difference in Imminent parousia and delayed parousia in the language used in the Gospels. Example: The gospel of Mark uses "immediately" a lot. Imminent parousia. The gospel of John talks figuratively about light and darkness. Delayed parousia.

Jesus did NOT write the Dead Sea Scrolls, they were put there before Jesus existed by a small group of conservative Jews called the Essenes. Or, they were the scrolls from Jerusalem's temple before it was destroyed by Titus in 70.ce. Whoever said that watches too much Discovery Channel. Please, DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON TV!!

First, we don't be attentive to that He never wrote something. All we've are the manuscripts that have survived and function been got here upon. it rather is in all probability that if He had written His tale, it could have been enjoyed and stored sacred, so He probably did no longer do it. besides the fact that if, He did manage to have a following of folk from distinctive walks of life to tell His tale to. Oral custom replace into significant for the Jews. additionally, the money owed weren't inevitably written down generations after His death. We in elementary terms have copies of those writings that are that old, yet a number of them have been probably written down particularly early in the 1st century and function no longer survived, yet have been copied lower back and lower back. And, I doubt if He replace into illiterate, on the grounds that He replace into so nicely versed in the scriptures. As considered one of your different answerers suggested, He rather "wrote" each and every of the books in the Bible, with the help of inspiring adult males to place in writing them down. All scripture is God breathed. it rather is advisable to study "The Case for Christ". between the failings that Lee Strobel is going into is the documentation of Christ's life and even if or no longer it rather is to be seen genuine.

Jesus did not come to write a book. He came to fulfill the Bible prophecy. He confirmed tha OT and promised the NT.

These people who wrote the NT either followed Jesus or knew personally people who knew Him and followed Him. : )

He actually did,

the dead sea scrolls

the church just tried covering it up because jesus contradicted the passages Peter and Paul wrote.

One of the them stated " Need not go to a building to worship me.
Lift a rock i am there, Split a peice of wood you will find me"

But this would take people AWAY from the church, so the the roman catholic church got rid of these scrolls

God wrote only one thing... the ten commandments. God wrote them on earthen material.

When a question regarding the ten commandments came up, Jesus wrote only one thing as well, and He too wrote on earthen material. What is this saying? "Don't talk to me about the Law, I wrote it!"

So why didn't Jesus write anything Himself? Because we would put it in a shrine and worship it, we would never copy it, we would never translate it, we would never benefit from it.

The object of whatever He chose to write on .... would become the "object" being worshiped.
Instead of GOD being worshiped.
Sort of goes against one of those commandments:
You will have no other gods before me.

If the "object" is worshiped as a god, then does it not violate the afore mentioned command.

During his time, Jesus was a cult leader. He wondered the land spreading his word. They didn't have PDA's and pocket notepads back then. It wouldn't have been convenient to carry around writing equipment.

BTW, do you know any cult leaders who write things down?
