dementia is a form of alzhiemers disease when the brain cells die and the person involved has no short term memory, they are extremely forgetful they do all kinds of odd things,This is a disease the elderly people get .There is a saying about this horrible affliction, "once an adult, and twice a child",this means that your a child until you become an adult, and an adult until you get alzhiemers or dementia then you become a child once again, you start acting like a child you dont follow little chores, you misplace things and often put them in weird places, you are often very confused and you get lost often.A person can pass away not from dementia, but from pneumonia ,senior citizens get this because of their age and their frail physical condition .I hope ive explained things to you clear enough for you to understand them rubberstampr

Dementia is a loss of mental functioning, reason, memory and IQ. It does not directly cause death, but it does put the sufferer at risk of serious injury because they no longer have the ability to care for them self or protect them self from dangers we avoid without second thought.
