Hi Rebecca,
Let me ask you this...if you think he likes you as a "best buddy", and you started dating him and maybe break up later and you lose him as your "best buddy", would you then wish you'd left your friendship at the best buddy stage rather than lose that relationship?
Look, a lot of times, a dating relationship can ruin a good friendship. You need to ask yourself what is more important to you. Leaving things as they are, he may eventually get around to asking you out. Maybe not. In any case, I'd be patient if his friendship is really important to you.
To sort of paraphrase an old saying, "a best friend in the hand is worth 2 boyfriends in the bush", if you know what I mean. Boyfriends will come & go, best friends are much harder to get & keep. I myself would rather keep a good friendship alive.
Good Luck!

i think that u shouldn;t try 2 rush him, u can give him little clues such as flirting and wanting to spend time with him alone. maybe tell a relationship story about what kind of boys you like and use him as an example.
use some of theses:
call him boo
tease him and play with him alot
when talking on the phone, talk to him as you would if you were going with him

Try teasing him and flirting with him. Touch him on the arm and soon you will know if he is interested by his reaction. Don't listen to the words, his body will tell the truth.
