No. The Dems are trying (or passed) a non-binding (meaning the president doesnt have to follow it, plus he could veto it) resoultion to withdrawal the troops by summer of 08.

The Democrats are promising that. But, I haven't seen a plan on how this will happen. Short answer, at least ten years, if ever, in my opinion.

The soul purpose of being there is to "take out" the insurgents, I guess you could call them military.
