I don't remember when it first happened. It happens to me, (chest pains arm and neck hurting, breathing shallowly and rapidly, and since I fell 5 years ago and broke my ankle my ankle feels like it won't hold me up,) when I have an inordinate amount of people caused outside stress. I take anti-depressants and am usually okay. But boy, it not only scrambles my brain and I can't think straight but it hurts as well. Oh, and I stammer, too, during an attack, and can't add a simple column of figures when usually I can do long division in my head.

Yes, and it's weird. I am actually having a hyperthyroidism blood test done today for this and other related symptoms (weight loss and stubborn high blood pressure). I have always been 'high-strung' but this is weird. I get these waves of anxiety, like the feeling you get when you suddenly remember you are supposed to be somewhere important and you forget, or someone coming up behind you and scaring you, even when I am having no stressful thoughts. I could just be lying watching TV or even trying to go to sleep. It seems purely bio-chemical and they come and go. It started happening a few weeks after I had my first baby who is now 2 years old. They totally went away until just recently where they have come back with a vengeance. It sucks. I would take an antidepressant but I am breastfeeding.

i started having panic attacks 9 years ago. I was a volunteer fireman and saw a bad accident where a drunk driver went into oncoming traffic and had a head on with a SUV full of women and kids they all died. That was the most heartbreaking thing I ever saw changed my whole life. I dont drink or smoke anymore and I can't be around to many people for some reason or i get them bad.

Yes, I don't really know when they started. But I noticed a shift in the attacks after a few traumatic events were over. I haven't thought about it for awhile. But now that I have I should remind myself that I may be have an attack. I'm not sure when I might be having one anymore.

I do. I have a bunch of kids though. No wife (she left us), and I'm always stressed now. They're all young kids too. Stubborn, difficult, but my babies. So.....Anxiety, yes, stress, yes. When I'm stressed, and I come home, and the kids, dogs, everyone runs to me, some start fighting, it's a mad house....If I have an anxiety attack, I'll take a lorazepam. .5 mg

I used to, they first happened when my youngest child was a baby. I went out too soon after the birth (the next day!) and couldnt physically get back home, so I panicked. After that if I went out I would sometimes get panicky. Therapy helped me get it under control.

OMG! YES! I started having them when I was about 17, I am now 19. I only get them when I'm really stressed or worried about things. I had a horrible one last night, and I don't know how to make them stop....If anyone else does, please email me!

I've had them since I was little. My mom always wanted me to sing in front of crowds and I dreaded it.
