"Thou shalt not kill" never stopped many Biblical figures (like King David) from killing thousands of non-believers. In fact, God supported their actions. Why should Jesus saying "turn the other cheek" stop Christians from killing thousands of non-believers in its early history? Were these violent Christians not doing the same thing by following their violent god? The god of the Bible is a blood-thirsty god. I am sure he would (if he were real) be supportive in the killings of heathens no matter what time period you live in.

The fact is that Muslims bring up Christians murdering other people centuries ago as an excuse to murder people today, Its not. Killing in the name of god is wrong, and no matter what you try to use to excuse your violence, society has moved past the need to murder those who don't agree with you. Murder is wrong no matter what the excuse, and it always has been. Besides, the crusaders were Christianity's answer to Muslims doing the same in the name of Mohamed. After all, Muslims raided Jerusalem before the crusaders did and built mosques on top of Christian holy places. How rude was that?

if you will just understand it in a deeper way. "the branches or the trees that are not fruitful need to be thrown into fire" is not a violent act because prior to that, God still give a chance for us to prove that we have the right to live in the world he created. everything has its proper allocation, as well as the evilness of person, don't you think it's improper to stop the evil people from propagating their own kind? those are like the weeds around a useful wheat.

and i believe that God is not portrayed as a laughing and greedy God as He saw blood shed all over the soil. if you believe in the account of cain and abel, God punish Cain for killing His brother.. noah's ark and flood.. God their promise not to cause flood again because He loves us alot hut as we could see, what you are accusing to God is what we are doing, we are the ones who love chaos, we are the ones who disobey the good will of God. the question is, did God have any bad plan for even an individual, didn;t He just desire the goodness of His people as weel as their neighbors? try to reflect on it my dear

Bible can be confusing. I also dont understand why God protected Cain for killing Abel...

Well, the only plausible explanation is that if you kill someone, which is extremely wrong, you will return in another life, living close to that person, so that you can have another chance to lover and care for him/her.

Please, dont think this is alright, because we dont know how much those murderers or killers even in the name of God or not, will have to pay for.

Peace!

This is Thou shalt not Murder and only applies to killing the innocent. If you are at war, like when the Jews were agaisnt the Babylonians, they were jsutfied in killing. But If Dahmer went out and killed sombody for fun, that would be against the commandment.

If Christians followed the teachings of Jesus to the letter, they would be Muslims.

We don't have to blame God for our misuse of His name. Think about it, how many people have guns and how many of them just go out and shoot people and blame the gun? If you already made up your mind about God and His ways, then you'll only see Him the way you do, but if you keep an open heart you may see Him differently

To their credit, it's actually Thou Shalt not Murder, and by the definition of the Exodus Covenant, that only applies to the people, not to their deity.

Of course, the whole law, before and after Jesus, only applies to Jews, and you have to deliberately mistranslate to believe otherwise, but that doesn't stop anyone, huh?

the old test. is more of an example to go by. god can still have many bad things happen to those who disobey, and can let satan do whatever he want to us, for ex. job was a true man of god but satan told god if you let me take all he owns he will turn away from you and curse you god let satan do whatever he would but to spare his life, job never cursed god and so god gave him all he owned before plus more, god wants to to know he will protect his own children but the heathern he has no obligation to protect, i believ they are only alive by the prayers of others and gods mercy. the OT shows us examples and god's power but jesus tells us how WE should behave today
