Does anyone know how to make a pizza from scratch using fresh tomatoes, without the pizza getting soggy in the middle? Is there some way I should prepare the tomatoes before hand? Some way I should cook the pizza? What am I doing wrong!

You need to put the tomatoes on the pizza AFTER the pizza is done cooking. If you want them fire-roasted, then you'll have to do that separate from the pizza itself. There was a thing about this on America's Test Kitchen. I don't know if you can get their ideas from their website or not.

Skin and seed the tomatoes.
Make an x on the bottom.
Boil some water and dip the tomato for just about 1 minute, depending on size.
Plunge the tomato into ice water to stop cooking and cool to handle.
Peel off the skin, cut the tomato in half and gently squeeze out seeds and liquid.
Slice or chop and use on pizza.

I wouldn't use fresh toms. Try either a carton of passata (strained tomatoes-nice and thick) or canned toms that you have blended and cooked down for a while to get rid of some of the water content. You could add some tomato puree.
Another tip-get the oven as hot as you can then cook the base and the tomatoes first before adding other toppings and returning to the oven.

Fresh tomatoes go on the pizza AFTER it comes out of the oven.

Most pizza restaurants put on the fresh tomatoes after the pizza comes out of the oven so it doesn't cook and get soggy..

use a drier tomatoe like a roma, or seed the tomato. lightly toasting the crust before topping would help with the sogginess too.
