Well, this depends a lot on what you plan on doing with the vehicle.
You have said "ford 350", and "dodge ram" and "Chevy 250". Now the Chevy 2500 and the Ford F-350 are of two different weight ratings (the 2500 is a 3/4 ton truck, and the F-350 is a one ton)
Really, it all comes down to which one has the options you like combined with the styling you like.
Personally, I would go with an F-550 or a GMC 5500, but that is because I am looking at which truck would make the best recovery vehicle (tow truck).

Personal preference is all it is. I have an Chevy HD 2500 Diesel, I love it, hate the fuel prices...But love the truck. Acutally second one I have owned. I pull all kinds of trailers from travel trailers, car trailers, and horse trailers. I love the power it has. I like the Allison transmission. I have an F-150, its ok. My husband has a Chevy HD 1500, its ok. He is a ASE certified mechanic. When I went out looking for a my new truck his only rule stay away from the Dodge. They have problems with transmissions. While pulling trailers for FEMA I passed a number or Dodges. Not saying it was all transmission, some of it could of been they just didn't take care of their trucks. The HD 2500 is a 3/4 ton on a 1 on frame. Therefore, most insurance or businesses consider it a 1 ton. F-350 is a 1 ton.
F-350 average price for 06' $26,000 to $38,000
Chevy Duramax HD - I only know new since I just bought mine and its loaded....$47,000. I have a bit more in it than that now since I have had the windows tinted and a few extras added.

Definately the F-series, there's a reason it's the best selling truck in the world for many years, and in the U.S. for the past 29 years.
Here's one review I'm providing a link on , the F-450 which trumps the competition. As one journalist stated, "not only did Ford raise the bar, they thru it right out the window". Aside from that, it leads in towing/hauling, sets the standard in interior materials, and quality, definately the benchmark in interior quietness, etc.
New this year are a bunch of toys that one-ups the competition, such as the power telescoping side mirrors, you also have an integrated step-up onto the tailgate to enter the truck bed, and integrated brake/hauling feature as well.
As for reliability, the F-series Super Duties are rated higher than the Silverado or Ram (providing a link to that as well), from JDPower which is the automotive authority for vehicle research data.
As for prices, I use Edmunds.com (providing a link), and you can select which version you might need. I've seen some XLT models which are nicely optioned...then I've seen the King Ranch version which is more like a luxury car with the trim and quality leather interior. Pretty impressive.

A 350 and 250 are work trucks for heavy duty towing. If that is what you are looking for I would say a chevy or a dodge if you need one for light duty think about a ford or chevy.
Since you added some information I would go with a Chevy with a duramax engine and an allison transmission. I would not consider a toyota or nissan.

The Ford has a a lot higher and more acceptable body in it, that's sturdy for pulling trailers because that's going to very last more, it can also pull more beneficial weight. maximum of the ranchers round right here use the Ford F250-F350 besides, so there should be a clarification for that.

I personally prefer Chevrolet but you cant go wrong with any of them.Chevrolet is the most dependable.JD power and associates always rank the Silverado the most dependable based on research.You are comparing a 1 ton Ford to a ? Ram to a 3/4 ton Chevrolet so I really dont know.By the way it is a Chevrolet 2500 not a 250.

None are true diesels.Real diesel have steel cylinder liners,steel pistons,cast iron block and heads,and injection pump.They are all computerized,means if war starts,your truck won't start. G.M. has the worst,next to dodge,aluminum heads,and G.M. no steel liners,but frozen cylinder bores,and snapped off connecting rods.A real diesel should run over a million miles before new rings and liners.
I would not make a house payment for the junk they sell.You might as well have a gasoline engine.

You don't mention what your criteria is for 'better'. Better could be that the Ford sits too high for a mini skirt.
Do you research on the various vehicles at www.edmunds.com. You'll get pricing, features and reviews. Then you can make your own more intelligent decision based on something other than 'better'.

Before you buy anything take a look at the 2008 F-350. It's a hoss. Will pull like a mule. The 6.4 diesel with the twin turbos sound like a gas engine once they start. If it would make a difference and you want to buy one, contact me and I'll get you a X plan number. lthomas77@yahoo.com

If you are planning on keeping it more than 5 years ,buy the Ford.
I've owned a number of Fords over the years and consider them strong and dependable.
I'm currently driving my 1988 F250, 327,000 mi and still going strong.
