I told him I wanted to be friends only, no sex, no relationship he said he accepted that. Soon after he was buying me gifts and expecting me to have a relationship with him. It made me cringe, he didn't care what I thought or felt, now he does not have a friend in me either, I rather abhor him. Was this just a game, or did he do it to offend me?

we do --- unfortunately there is this perception that when a lady says no she is "playing" hard to get and so no means try harder --- look at the questions --- there are a number i have seen about playing hard to get --- to me if a lady says no then thats it she is not interested so i back off --- this person seems to have thought that you were prepared to have a deeper relationship and he had to work harder at winning you over --- it does not excuse the actions it may help to understand them --- best wishes

Sounds like he wanted you to feel like u had to have a relationship with him cause of all the gifts he was giving. He sounds a bit obsssesive to me.. If you dont like this then you should end it.

I think he did it simply to try and win you over, and he obviously failed in his pursuit.
