It appears that some Special Kitty foods are in the recall:

However, it appears to only be the pouched food. http://menufoods.com/recall/Cat/Special%20Kitty%20US.htm

Why not take this opportunity to switch to a higher quality food? Blue Buffalo (petsmart), Natural Balance ( Petco), and Evo are all much higher quality foods. They use only humane grade ingredients and contain no cheap fillers.

Good luck to you and your cat.

If you check the details, only the Special Kitty pouches are on the list, no canned Special Kitty food is on the list. Friskies is ok. Go to Special Kitty (either USA or Canada) and check, you will see it is only the pouches.

the recall is for can and pouch food and yes special kitty is on the list. Friskies is not.
There is also a list for dog food...
visit www.abc7.com and click consumers then recalls and updates for the full list of menufoods company of labels. but they sold their brands to wal-mart, krogers and safeway corporate stores. I hope your kitty's ok. Good luck.

yes, i'm afraid 'Special Kitty' is on the list for re-called cat foods.

But, the cat food recalls are just canned cat food not dry cat food, so Friskies dry cat food is not on the list.

I have Purina Friskies can cat food.I read the back of the can.Its manufactured by Nestle Purina Petcare Comp.I know the Nestle Purina is doing a recall today. So we are in the same building as the recall.Only thing I can do is pray and wait.I know that's not what you want to hear but your not alone.Good Luck For All Of US.

No dry food is in the recall. The list of foods recalled is on the Menu foods website.

The Special Kitty is on the list. Friskies isn't on the list, but is recommended as one to give your pets rather than the tainted food.
