1 Corinthians 7:10-11
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, "Let not the wife depart from her husband:

But if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled with her husband, and let not the husband put away his wife."

1 Corinthians 7:39

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth, but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will;only in the Lord.

So, how many homophobes are also sinning by remarrying?

How many Christians who condemn homosexuality are women who speak in church, or attend a Church where a woman is in a leadership role?

"The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.

If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church." -1 Corinthians 14:33-35

I think every Christian who condemns homosexuality is a hypocrite because they are breaking some part of the Bible themselves. That is why Jesus said let him who is without sin cast the first stone, and judge not lest ye be judged.

The Bible also mentions adultery as being the only excusable reason for divorce in which the wronged partner can remarry. But all that aside, what does divorce have to do with homosexuality? That's like comparing apples to oranges! Sin is sin no matter how great or small, so trying to say inappropriately divorced/remarried people are as bad as homosexuals is ignorant! What about abusive relationships? Is God going to frown upon a woman/man who gets away from the abuse and finds theur true happiness?

If your point is that its a sin to be divorced, just as homosexualality is a sin, you are correct. BUt, God does give reasons where divorce is ok. and He is quite clear.
If a mate leaves you and cheats on you, you are free to remarry. Otherwise, No.
But, the reasons homosexuals cant divorce is they cant really marrry, not according to God. States may now give them papers. but they arent married in Gods eyes. We must not compare one sin against another. Sin is sin. period.
and if everyone obeyd God, there would be no divorce or homosexuality, no lying, no stealing, no greed, no murder, none of it. Gods ways are good. the worlds way is that of the devil and leads to sin , destruction and hell.
besides all the misery they get till they do die.
Christians dont condemn a person, we love the person, even the homosexual. So does God. But , He loves us too much to leave us in the sin filled condition we come to Him in. He wants to give us a heart change and a new mind and spirit that goes along with what He knows will bring joy and peace. But, we are ok to condemn homosexuality, the sin itself, as God is clear about it. When someone says I am a gay Christian, I step back and just ponder. Thats like saying I am a christian but I dont believe in Jesus. This is popular now too. What if I say I am muslim but dont believe in Allah getting to be a bit ridiculous. Like an athiest that says Iam an athiest, but I do believe in God. Let your label stand for whatever that label is supposed to stand for. I dont care for labels, but at the same point we are either for or against what the group stands for. lets all figure it out and deceide whose side we are on. By the way knowing that homosexuality is a sin, does not mean we are a homophobe,or that we hate Homeosexuals > We dont fear them or hate them. We love them, But we do know God said it is a sin. If I hate the sin of adultry, does that mean I hate adulterers or fear them? NO.
Lets start really thinking these things thru and not be so quick to use our own opinions to define the beliefs or another person. An athiest has a right to not belive in Christianity. A christian has a right not to believe in athiesm. its all our choise. A homeosexual can think a Christian is out there and nuts. their choice andyes they can express that. BUt, its also ok for a Christian to say we love the homosexuals, yet stand firm that it is a sin, that its wrong, and they cant go to heaven like that. Its not ourjudgments. Its Gods.
Lets just look at the log in our own eye, before we try to remove the spec from someone elses. yet still being able to think and speak what we believe, without hating. Is that too much????

So let God judge them, ok? If you're a Christian, your job is to forgive and be merciful toward people around you that sin. Dont you have your own sins to take care?? Why verses from the Bible are used to make people feel superior about other people? This should be a sin too...

Peace!

That was the case for anything other than adultery. You have to cross reference the scripture and read the full context of scriptures around it as well.

If one just left say because "He doesn't love me anymore," then that would not be grounds for divorce.

"Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery." (Matthew 19:9)

And I'm not divorced either.

if you quote, please include all, not parts.

Matthew 5:31-32

31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality[a] causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
