It's not that i don't wear skirts, but on this particular day, it was so so cold and snowing, not a day i wanted to freeze my *** off! :-)

There is some missing info here.
Was that the only text msg?, was it in response to a question about "what should I wear?" (to dinner/dance, movie, bbq place). Maybe he just learned the dress code for an event he asked you to.
How "playful" was he? (ok read that as how horny, and wants to see some skin)
...have I been that blunt.... yes, but only face to face and with a playful smile. Otherwise, in txt msg, I would add... FYI - dress code up wear skirt or something like it. or if "playful" I have also used the line, ...u know.... ur hot in skirt... wear one
Edit - didn't see the snow comment until after posting. Unless his comment was an FYI about a dinner dress code etc... I think he was out of line, and just tell him, no it's too cold. If he pushes it.... that's more of a he wants control of you issue (read future abuse issue) and I would run - not walk, but run - to the nearest exit.

Well, it could have a few meanings you know. Like he might wanna take you somewhere special, he wants to compliment your legs, or maybe just maybe, he wants you to wear a skirt. It's not intimidating, he's a guy. What do you expect... Hell, I've had guys tell me to strip for them. It's just the way guys are. It doesn't matter. If you want to wear a skirt, do it if you don't wanna wear a skirt then don't. Don't you love it when your boyfriend has on nice clothes. He could be the same too you know.
P.S. If he gets mad at you because you didn't wear a skirt; DUMP HIS BUTT!
But, then again, he could just wanna get laid... so....

Skirts are making a HUGE popularity boom--and we guys find women in them sizzingly sexy--not just the mini-skirts, which we ALL carry a weakness for!!
Call it a hunch here, but I think boyfriend's giving you a clever hint of what ignites his attraction to you. I'd stoke the flames and have fun w/ it. Sounds like a invitation to GO SHOPPING.....take a girlfriend along and have fun. After all: boyfriend DID give you the OK.

I wouldn't say intimidating, but I would definitely wonder what his motives are!! You have to think-what do you think he is wanting if he is telling you that? Are you ready for his hand to wonder or maybe something more? Something to consider before wearing the skirt!

first of all it really depends on the circumstances he wants you to wear a skirt. maybe he thinks you look cute in skirts. maybe he has a surprise for you and want to wear something more than jeans. maybe he wants to get under your skirt (quickie). maybe he is trying to control what you wear. there is alot of maybes to why he texted you to wear a skirt.
it depends on the circumstance on how i would react. if he wanted me to wear a skirt for a quickie wear it and nothing else. if he is trying to control what you wear then tell him to wear a skirt and wear what you wanna wear.
basically just ask why because you really can't respond without the motive.

It's not that big of a deal...just take it easy..it doesn't mean he is trying to control you. After all your his girlfriend...and it's just one of those days..where he feels like he would like to see you in something short and sexy. If this is like an everyday thing or he is always telling you what to wear then you have reason to be concerned.
