it may be advertised as a "pure breed", it's still a mutt. imagine the personallity of a beagle, you know how they are! :) i love them too! and pugs can be just as ambitious!
now you've put the two together, your chances of a "mellow fellow" are not so good. i do beleive it would be a very loing and loyal dog however!
check the shelters, you may find something similar w/o the "designer" price tag!
good luck!

I adopted a puggle and he is so awesome. He is quite full of energy and loves going on our daily walks. He minds well, for the most part, and has the cutest face on the planet. Just because puggle's are called designer dogs does not mean that is why people purchase them. My friend had a puggle before I adopted mine and he was the most loving dog I had ever seen. And just because someone has a puggle does not mean they got one from an "irresponsible breeder" I love my Mutt and I don't care what anyone says.

it depends on the dog. Some puggles are exactly like beagles and have their nose to the ground 24/7 and some are more like pugs and are lap dogs. They are not a real breed so you don't know what you are going to get for sure

With these so-called "designer breed" (aka designer mutts) you never know exactly what you're going to get. To me, it seems irresponsible to try and keep anything part-beagle in an apartment.
Do your research and choose a breed that best suits your needs now. Purina, Eukanuba, and Yahoo all have breed selecting tools on their websites. You can answer a series of questions about your lifestyle and it will give you a list of dogs that would be suitable.
If you don't want a purebred dog, but just a mix, go to a shelter and adopt a dog that needs a home. Please don't waste your money on a designer mutt.
