New one on me, but usually charcoal is used to absorb some toxin that has been eaten. Once the toxin has all been absorbed I think the diarrhea would also end.

They give charcoal to animals and people actually who have over dosed, or eaten something toxic, or even if they suspect a toxin. It removes the toxin from the system.
Biscuits would likely be sold if you feel that your dog is toxic... Bad dog foods, bad water, generally cleaning up the system. I am not sure if it would actually clean anything out of the blood, but it would help with stomach problems.

Charcoal biscuits are used to freshen breath, if your dog has the trots, give him a single dose of pepto bismol. If the trots continue for 3 or more days see a vet, there could be a more serious cause. Also, watch him, dogs are very clever and can get into anything, people food is far too rich and fatty for dogs and will cause diarrhea, damaged kidneys, and excessive weight gain

Charcoal biscuits are great for gas and for bad breath. They don't do a thing for lose stools.
