Eat less and do more --that is the only way.

Set small goals ( 2 pounds this week)

Start with an easy exercise program and work your way up.

If you start trying to do 100 crunches every morning and running 5 miles a day , you'll last one day , say it is too hard and quit.

Walk around one block today , 2 tomorrow, until you can do 3 miles in 45 minutes.

You might be able to lose 50 lbs in that time , it would mean 3-4 lbs per week.

If you work hard and eat right you can loose about 10 lbs per month. You need to do Cardio or Aerobics 5-6 days a week for 45-60 minutes. I would also add some toning workouts to your routine after about a month.
Limit you calorie intake...watch your portions. Eat about half of what you normally do. Drink a lot of water. Stop drinking calories as much as possible.

Each person is different. First you need to find out how many calories you need to maintain your current weight. Then you have to figure out the best way to burn those calories you need to meet your goals. It takes 3,500 calories to burn 1lb of fat. You can effectively burn 1lb of fat in a week by burning or reducing your intake by 500 calories a day. Running and drinking lots of water helps. Don't try to lose it to fast or your body will store the fat and break down muscle tissue. It takes hard work and patience. You won't keep the weight off if you can not maintain the lifestyle so keep that in mind. Good luck.

Don't just diet.... EXERCISE! It's the fastest way to lose weight - you have to burn calories.

Do not rely on diet pills of any kind and do not starve yourself either. The biggest misconception about losing weight is people think you have to starve yourself - you DON'T. In fact, if need to burn calories constantly to lose weight - like throwing a log onto a fire to keep the fire going. Which means - instead of 3 large meals - eat 5 small meals, to keep your metabolism going.

Remember, your stomach is only as big as your fist. So portion control is key. Cutting out refined sugars is very important, along with fatty foods.

Lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins are the ultimate diet. Avoid all fast foods (even if they sound healthy - there are hidden calories in these). Also avoid manufactured or processed foods - (anything in a box or pre-made).

Fresh foods are best. Lean proteins like boneless, skinless chicken breasts and fish are excellent protein choices. Vegetables - the more colorful, the more vitamins.

Replace 'sugar cravings' with fresh fruit.

Exercise, exercise, exercise (and drink plenty of water). To lose 50 pounds - a good combination of cardio workouts (aerobics, running, brisk walking, treadmill, eliptical/stairmaster, etc.) is excellent. Aside from cardio, you will need to start with some weights (muscle burns fat).

For starters, try walking briskly about 40 minutes a day with 5 pound hand weights, and then work up to 10 lbs., etc. Don't try to overdo, too fast. You may injure yourself if you are out of shape.

Don't get discouraged - you have to keep at this - you will lose water weight first initially, and then the rest of the weight may drop slower - but don't give up. CONSISTENCY IS KEY.......you need portion control (change plate size), exercise, healthy eating, water, etc. every single day.

You also need to make losing weight fun. Get some colorful workout clothes so you are motivated, or get a fun exercise ball (they are great for using in front of the television - so rather than just sitting and watching tv, you can be working out ). Challenge yourself (i.e. if you have a favorite TV program - make yourself workout from beginning of the show to the end of the show). Then you know you'll have worked out a specific amount of time each day.

Or workout to your favorite music.

Losing this much weight is totally possible, but it's a commitment from you........ work out 7 days a week, eat right, oh and don't forget to cut out the alchohol and get plenty of rest (your body does burn calories when you sleep and when you get proper sleep, you do lose weight faster!!!) I'm not kidding about this.

Also - RELEASE YOUR STRESS ........ in addition to exercise, do some meditation or reading/relaxing - go for a walk in a peaceful park, etc. You need to release any and all stress - as STRESS IS THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR WEIGHT GAIN - your metabolism shuts down and you 'save' calories and end up gaining weight.

Good luck to you. You CAN DO IT!!!!
