There is a type of seizure that does not stop and a term for it that may cause death...It is rare..in 15 years as a Paramedic...I never saw it..and I have a wife that is an epileptic...the normal seizures when complete people think the person is dying as there is a few moments when they don't breath...NORMALLY this is NORMAL..the brain(for lack of a better analogy) is rebooting and things will return to normal
It is only when the seizure lasts a very long time...it may seem like a long time but I am talking a quite a few rather than the normal 1 min or so...that they can become life threatening..

Good Luck...

second time you asked about epilepsy
yes it can lead to brain damage or death
your friend should be under a professional doctors care.
if they are then you don't need to do anything more than be
an understanding friend.....as a friend they may tell you where their medication is and how to help them if they should have a seizure while with you. Ask them about it letting them know you care about them and want to be a good friend.

It can cause death, I knew someone that went to high school with me who died a few years ago as a result, and I'm only 28.

depends on what kind of seizure

grand maul [sp] could possibly
because
a] it can cause MASSIVE brain damage
and
b] most times you vomit while seizing so if someone doesn't tilt your head to the side you can drown

with minor maul seizures though i don't think you can die

[minor maul: you space of and cant respond]
[grand maul: uncontrollable shaking vomiting]
