But actually, lead people to a different God or gods, or leads people to sin against God. Or prophecy something will happen at such & such a time & place, and it didn't happen, but they said the LORD surely said it would happen at such & such a time & place. Or ones that say, God said that Jesus didn't die on the cross for the remission of our sins, or that God said that Jesus isn't the Son of God, born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Lilith, that Jesus sounds like the one that Islam thinks will come back & rule with their 12th Imam. Also that you can kill, steal & destroy & still go to heaven. You can indulge if you believe in him as the Jesus.
It is written in the bible that God caused them to be turned over to a deceiver, those who refused to love & believe in God and Gods Truth. This is a sample of a deception that God allowed to be turned over to a deception.

Jonah was told God was going to destroy Niniveh. The people repented. So God told Jona to tell them God won't destroy them. Jona didn't want to obey God. With true Prophets (Jona is) God is moved by the prayer of repentence, so will forgive a people if they humble themselves before God. Jesus referred to Jona, so confirmed Jona a true Prophet. It was true God was going to destroy Neneveh, but God changed His mind because Neneveh repented. So, also this is an example of Gods forgiveness.

Gordon Hinkley a true Prophet? Never read that before. There is certainly a lot of biblical truth in his letter. But why does he promote the Mormon book with some biblical truths in it? What about the the false things written in the Mormon book? I don't believe he is a true Prophet, only because of the Holy Spirit confirmation that he is, isn't there. The Holy Spirit confirms in my spirit he isn't a true Prophet of the LORD God. I have to trust the anointing given me with the laying on of hands, the spirit of truth that leads into all truth.

Jan, your wrong. The first resurrections started when Jesus raised from the dead and will be completed before He comes to reign in the millinium. The first resurrection are all who are redeemed by the blood. The rapture is a big part of the first resurrection. Lean not on your own understanding, but lean on God given understanding.
I am sooo surprised with all this false prophet info. that God has to speak directly to me about your answers.

only one true prophet had to come after Jesus & he was prophet Mohammed. Any others who claim to be prophets are 100% false.
if you think prophet mohammed is false because he said jesus was a prophet & not God,
then how do you know for sure that your story about jesus is the right one.???
there was a huge number of christians who believed jesus was a prophet & not God (read the history), from Jesus time & until prophet mohammed time where most of them became muslims.
Note: it is christians who believe they can kill, destroy, & steal & then go to heaven, because they say jesus died for removing All their sins no matter what they are.,,,,,,,,,,,, It is Not the Muslims as you claimed in your comment to 'Lilith',

God sends them to a personal hell where they wander around the cubicle wastelands at work where all their coworkers are gossipping about them. Whenever they try to stop the coworkers, they just pretend that he's not there and keep doing it anyway. After a few millenia of this, they finally reach the dreaded boss' office where it's really God who looks at them and laughs "now you know how it feels to have lies spread about you!" Of course in the laughing the person sees His shadow and finds out that God is really the Devil.
It's a pretty crappy office where nobody gets paid or vacation time off and every day it's always some fat annoying chick's birthday. Nobody likes her, but they pretend to for a free piece of cake. Then when they eat the cake they find out it's their least favorite flavor, and that the fat girl fancies them.

What are u on about (lol) there have been many false Prophets and will be more, but Jesus (pbuh) Mohammed (pbuh) and other Prophets which are known are the real Messengers, otherwise we would not hear of them till this day, God chooses what he wants with the false prophets, but guides the ones who he wants to like Jeus (pbuh) Mohammed (pbuh).

Matthew 7:15-20:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
I do know that false prophets are on the earth. Look at some of the cults that have come along in past, like heaven's gate. There is even one alive today who is in jail for polygamy, and for running from the law (Warren Jeffs of the FLDS- which is a totally different church from the LDS, just to point out they aren't the same!!). I do believe that these people will be judged for what they have done to others, just as we will.
Jesus didn't die on the cross for our sins. He atoned in the Garden for our sins. He died on the cross so He could be resurrected and so we could also live again. He did die on the cross for us. Don't get me wrong. Most people just overlook the atonement as His own personal suffering, but that was more for us then Him dying on the cross. The atonement is what takes away sin, not His dying on the cross. But yes, He did die for us!!
Christ is the Son of God. Him and the Father work as one to bring about our immortality and eternal life with Them. I do believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born to teach and to bring to us the ability to live with Him and God again.
There are prophets on the earth today, like in the days of the bible. They do speak of Christ, testify of Christ, believe in Christ and teach of Christ. They are men called of God for the purpose of bringing about the fullness of the gospel, and teaching us what the Lord would have us do and know now. Here's a link to a person that my religion considers a prophet. It's his feelings and testimony of Christ.

I can tell you what the manuscripts say about it: (actually they are full of stuff on the subject, but here is one of them)
When Christ returns, he will not be coming this time to be crucified, but as a King, and carrying a rod of iron (for correction). He plans to visit the churches first; those pulpits where lies are taught in His name.
I assure you that anyone teaching falsly will
be straightened out. A good example would be those preachers who teach the rapture doctrine. Unfortunately, the first "jesus" that arrives on the scene will be Antichrist, so all those who believe that Jesus will come and rapture them to safety before the tribulation of Antichrist, will be taken by Antichrist. The true Christ does not gather back to us in any form or fashion until after Antichrist sits in Jerusalem disguised as Christ, proclaiming to be Christ. In Scripture where you read of two grinding at the mill; one is taken, the other left. You have books written called "left behind" that tell you that you want to be the one taken. If you back up to capture the subject and object of what is being discussed, you will see that the subject is that Antichrist comes first. So, the one taken is taken by Antichrist. YOU WANT TO BE THE ONE LEFT BEHIND.
When Christ returns, there will be the mass majority of well-meaning Christian folks who will be worshipping antichrist. Those preachers who will lead thousands of people to worship that fake, will be held accountable for it. They will be held accountable for the spiritual deaths of each and every one of them. And, those who choose to believe those false teachers, instead of reading Gods continuous warnings about this in His Word, will also pay for it. Both will fall in the ditch. They are all blind. The punishment for listening to false doctrine, when God sent His Word, but yet they chose to ignore it, will be that when Christ does return, they will answer for the fact that they are a bunch of devil worshippers. Its not gonna be very happy for alot of folks, but its their own damn fault for listening to nonsense.

Obviously if they're false (and they know it) that's bad news for them.
...most of your definitions are right, but be careful about the prophesying something that didn't happen one - Jonah prophesied that the city of Ninevah would be destroyed in 3 days (and if you read the book of Jonah you'll notice nothing of his prophesies mentioned any condition of their repentance), and that didn't happen, but he was still a Prophet.

cutting-edge prophets have been warning us to be arranged for mess ups. they do no longer many times let us know, "an earthquake and tsunami are going to hit." The undesirable and needy are being helped by way people each and every of the time. cutting-edge international management training conferences have been educating our bishops, etc. to seek for out the undesirable and needy and do a greater effective activity with it. the three-fold objective of the church at the instant replace to a 4-fold objective, including in greater subject and shield the undesirable and needy. the popular objective of a prophet is to call people to repentance, as Jonah replace into observed as to do in Nineveh, yet a prophet has the authority to speak for God on any subject that God needs him to speak on. infrequently does God intrude with organic mess ups with the help of giving specific warnings to us approximately them. If we've been shielded from all of those issues, we does no longer learn how to undergo with the aid of trials. you have an exciting checklist of "significant problems." i think of that God might disagree with what you think of is significant. He might probably be greater enthusiastic approximately eternal life than with those mortal concerns. a number of the failings on your checklist are exceedingly minor, yet matter. Too many rings make a guy or woman look dis-good, and individuals of the church ought to attempt to look good. turn-flops are fantastic except the are worn to church on Sunday, as they are no longer dressy adequate to be ones Sunday maximum suitable. preserving the Sabbath day holy, attending church in many circumstances, having faith and marrying a member of the different gender are all God's rules, no longer guy's, so of direction a prophet ought to call those to repentance who are not doing them and supply training as to how they're maximum suitable performed. so some distance as people no longer being born gay - no person suggested precisely that. some everybody is born with inclinations to scouse borrow or replace into addicted to alcohol or drugs or perhaps the internet. Others are born with inclinations in the direction of homosexuality. All of those issues are temptations that we are being examined with, and if we turn removed from them, repent and undergo to the top we are in a position to be stored.

7 How horrible it will be for the world because it causes people to lose their faith. Situations that cause people to lose their faith will arise. How horrible it will be for the person who causes someone to lose his faith!
