Actually, it says that rejecting Jesus as lord is a sin, so by default being an atheist or a Jew (or a Muslin or a Buddhist, etc.) is a sin, I suppose.
A few exemplary passages:
-----------------------------------------
But [Jesus] continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."
~John 8:23,24 (NIV)
"Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him."
~John 5:22,23 (NIV)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
~John 3:16-21 (NIV)

I suppose that this is closer to what you are looking for:
Revelation 21:8
"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
New International Version (NIV)

it is not a sin to be a Jew or Atheist it is the action that leads to sin. For instance many Atheist's blasphemy God and it is written the horrible punishment for that. The only way to get to heaven is through Jesus Christ by faith through His grace. We sin everyday, everyone. It is not possible for you to achieve heaven of your own skill or righteousness.

while i can't quote chapter and verse this second, i have to wonder where in the world did you come up with that it's a sin to be jewish? the Bible dosen't say that. as long as you accept Christ as your savior, it dosen't matter what your background is. ... jewish, catholic, muslim, atheist, agnostic... who told you that?
