You always see most Christians condemning homosexuality, while totally ignoring all the other things that the Bible says are wrong, such as wearing clothes of two fibers, allowing people with vision problems to approach the alter, allowing women to remain in the city while on their period, eating pork and shellfish, growing two different crops in the same field, and allowing women to speak in church. It's widely accepted that many of these former laws hold no relevency in today's society. How come most Christians don't accept that the laws against homosexuality are just as passe?

Jesus NEVER said anything about homosexuality. In fact homosexuality that is discussed in the bible isn't even today's definition. In the Bible homosexuality is used to describe sexual perversions (due to an inaccurate translation, but that's another story). All the scriptures that denounce "men laying with men" aren't saying that the act is bad, but that turning against their natural orientation is bad. For example, it would be a sin for a gay person to turn against their God-given orientation & sleep with the opposite gender.
It's funny how most Christians take their holiest of books out of context, & don't take the time to actually study the Bible and the time period in which it was written.

Ignorance.
It's worse. The "laws" against homosexuality are actually about prostitutes and are part of the cleanliness code.
When is the last time a Christian you know wouldn't sit next to a girl out of fear she might have her period and be contaminated? Yet other parts of the code are used to justify being incredibly ignorant to a fraction of society.
And the value of Christianity is? Seriously? Is it just that you can hate who you want and claim it is in the bible?

God's purpose for creating man and women was to be fruitful and populate the earth. They were created as perfect fits for one another in their bodies and minds. Again, with the fall of mankind, these purposes were conflated with seeking self gratification and excess.
Morality is defined by an ultimate moral authority, God. If you are a non-believer, then you have no objective moral truths.
Since God, speaking through the inspired prophets authoring the books of the bible, declared homosexuality a sin, then it is a sin.
Thus, homosexuality is just one of a litany of the degradation of the perfect moral state found in original creation. Homosexuality is just one of a plethora of sins now existing in the world. Like all sins, we hate the sin, but we love the sinner.
On the scale of the depravity of sin, homosexuality is no greater than other sins, just that it is practiced openly ("in your face"), so the reaction by some is over the top. Yet when we do some personal inventories of our own sinful natures, I am sure we are found wanting.

Happiness to Christians is more than the needs of the flesh. Continue to pray for strength to resist your urges and strive to be obedient to the scriptures.

Most of your argument is based on OT LAW under which we'd all be found guilty of death. As for homosexuality, read Romans Chapter 1. You'll see where God calls it an ABOMINATION for "....men that worketh that which is UNSEEMLY, men with men, women with women". As for "other sins" reread the OT and you'll see all manner of things that are just as pressed upon today as homosexuality! Everything from bestiality to not rotating your crops (like you mentioned) are there.

I agree with you, except that it is not 'most' Christians - but rather a certain group of them.
They have made homosexuality their main focus, while ignoring Jesus' command to take care of the widows and the orphans. We have children dying right here in the US, not to mention in other countries, and these fundamentalists are on a gay bashing rampage.
Sickening.

Dear Friend,
The laws you speak of are in the Hebraic Scriptures, (old testament)
Jesus was the end of the Mosaic Law, see below
Romans 10:4
Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
And also in the same book (which is in the Greek Scriptures, New Testament)
Romans 1:24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
The teaching of the bible and the word of God are crystal clear on this matter, however we must remember that all are imperfect and fall short of Gods requirements. Therfore we are taught to love the sinner and hate the sin.
God Bless

nicely, the regulation of the land prevents witch searching those days. besides that could no longer New testomony, therefore no longer portion of the Christian faith. the reason Christians concentration so intensely on homosexuals is because for most Christians, it truly is one sin they can pride themselves on no longer being accountable of, as a outcome starting to be "more beneficial useful than you". The Bible says all liars will be thrown into the lake of hearth (it does no longer aspect out homosexuals in this passage in Rev). yet few Christians denounce mendacity because maximum are accountable of it. Christians can relate to maximum sins because they're accountable of maximum. yet in the journey that they are truthfully no longer gay, they're one up on you. IMHO

Most christians will say that those things are part of the old law that Jesus died to fulfill. They completely overlook the fact that the killing of homosexuals caught in the act is also part of the law. Hopefully, we will eventually move past the need for religion at all; can't come soon enough for me.

Hi,
Is that your perception perhaps? As a Christian I feel all sin is bad. Thank Jesus that he died for all our sins. Now it's time for all of us to work out our repentance of our sins....even the sexual ones!

You are referring mainly to the Laws of Israel, most of which are superceded by the Law of Jesus, but not all.
Homosexuality was forbidden under Jewish Law and is forbidden under Jesus' Law. As for pork it was allowed before the Laws of Israel and again after, but you must read all the Bible not just Leviticus for a fuller understanding.
Homosexuality was forbidden before Leviticus, during Leviticus and forbidden by Jesus after Leviticus (read the Romans)

Oh it's so easy to pick and choose based on what society is willing to accept at the moment- pretty soon the majority will accept homosexuals and they will move on to a new atrocity
