he tries to talk to me sometimes, smiles, he winked at me once, and sometimes i catch him staring at me, are these signs? but then again he seems kind of distant sometimes as well. i jus dont get it. what's goin on?

If he doesn't ask you out, or ask for your phome number and call that same day, he's not feelin you. Forget about him.

Unless he's under 16 years old, guys are usually pretty straight forward about their interests. They do love mild flirting, but if he is seriously interested in you, he wouldn't be distant. So, it's not to say that his interest can't grow, but at this point, he is not ready to take the next move and ask you out. If you like him you may want to try talking to him more and giving him subtle signs that you're interested. If he doesn't respond, then you have your answer.

Sound like signs to me. Try starting conversations with him and see what develops. He may be shy and may need some direction from you. Sometimes people are so afraid of rejection, that they never make the move.

they are signs but he may have a girlfriend, or he's not getting the same response from you, so he doesn't wanna get rejected.
