The odds of being struck by lightning are 1 in 600,000 in the USA. Comparatively speaking you are 6 times more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to be killed by a dog of any breed. When you further break down the odds of being attacked and killed by a Pit Bull the odds are in your favor -approximately 1 in 145,000,000. That’s million folks. In contrast, you are 4 times more likely to be killed by a cow in the USA than any breed of dog, much less a Pit Bull

As soon as that particular animal makes it on the news and the media starts sensationalizing cows they will be banned too. If it was in the newspaper or on TV then it must be true. RIGHT???

I say it is because pit bulls are more prevalent in the city where more people are likely to take notice of this. I am a pit lover, and I know that there is a total over reaction to this problem. Thats how life is. The mistakes of the few ignorant careless people are paid for by the rest of us.

Well we obviously need cows for beef and leather so that is why we don't ban them. You make a very interesting point! I love dogs and i think it because they are a home domestic animal. You are more likely to come across a dog than a cow walking down the road!! Made me think!!

I think we should ban deer.

According to one report I heard last week, the #1 animal for causing human fatalities in the US were deer, with 151 fatalities in a year, compared to 18 for dogs of all breeds.

I should worry about the cows as my neighbors has over 100 of them.
I am much more likely to be hurt by one of them than a pittbull.
In all my years of work I have been bitten once and that was a poodle.

How many of those cows can be and were trained to attack?

It's not the dog that's the problem - it's the dog owner.

But there ARE people wanting to ban cows, they are the same people that want to end pet ownership and they are doing it the same way, by ever more restrictive laws and by spreading propaganda. "They" are H$U$, PeTA, DD, IDA, FFA, FS, etc...
