1st of all,I can understand the notion of God,but why do people still believe in such archaic things like the Bible and Quaran?Do people understand that it is a book filled with numerous people's philosophies posing as "The Truth"?And why are you so intent on keeping that crutch? We all are lost on meaning, but
do we really need to patch it up artificially? Can't we live life passionately, understanding our ignorance, and quit clinging on some crutch?I don't think I'll deter anyone from their herd, but I need to ask this.

To the last person:You are trying to explain the unexplainable.Plus, the men did contradict one another. In one place it tells you to stone certain people, the other,it tells you thou shalt not kill or pass judgement.I am not as trained as certain people that pick up flaws in the Bible, but I do notice a few.

Because the bible is the infallible Word of God....which trumps anything written by and inspired by man....if you choose NOT to believe the bible that is your choice. If I choose to believe that is MY choice. In the end one of us will be right...if YOU"RE right lights out, no big deal....If I"M right.....I'd better not go there...you all don't like it when we tell you the consequences.....

Oh, what a crutch, the Bible is. This numerous people that wrote the Bible is proof that it was inspired by God. It took 16 hundred years to write it. It is not possible for a group of 40 men, of great differences in age, to write about anything, and not contradict one another, and their prophesies were true as it was written. If man was able to do such a thing, he wouldn't.
God chose certain men to write as the spirit instructed him to.
The writings were in their own style, but told what to write.

Meaning is lost to those that do not understand, do not be one of those. Do not assume all you see in religion is real and the truth, realize what is really said. Many just walk with the herd to have the "title" and have no clue what it all is, for they only listen, never read.

Bible is clear, to READ. Tells us over n over to not listen to man nor a building. HE tells us to pray in private and do HIS good deeds in private w/o notice.

Then you have to get past the 3 gods and the trinity and rapture. For 1, there is but 1 God, not 3. For HE says so over n over again in the Bible, " I AM THE ONLY G_D ". To put Jesus before is a sin and that in turn, turns G_D's name to nothingness which is also a sin.

Then you have to get past the cross, ChristMas, Easter, easter egg, etc and realize these are all pagan items carried over. And from that you have to realize G_D said not to take items from those lands and worship as your own and HE is clear on not worshiping idols, statues or similar things. He does even mention metal, wood, stone, etc. What is a cross? And idol, a sin.

Realize the KJV and others are "re-writes" of the orginal and items have been changed. G_D is very clear in many passages but really clear in Rev. 22, to not change a word, not one. Yet people follow a book that has been changed, something G_D himself has flat up said do not do.

There is a war on for your soul....realize that, trickery is everywhere, most of what you hear are lies for even the Bible says that 1/3rd are wicked and will temp you. Do not believe man, believe your own eyes, on everything.

Read Revelation? That "little scroll"? Was held for us to READ at the end times? There is that READ again. Hmmm, lets define what "the Qur'an" means, " THE READ ". Then we are told that the little scroll will be sour in our stomach. Is it not sour to christians?

Starting to see the truth any? FOLLOW THE BOOK!!!! not man, not a building, not a title, nothing!! HIM, BOOK, ONLY! :)

HIS name is YAHWEH, YWHW by the way if you didn't know. HIS name was removed some 7000 times from the scriptures and it is used even 3 more times than Elohim, which means God, Godly and God like, so it applies to man as well.

Know this my friend. I have several questions to ask you in return. I am not angry with you nor am I insulting you. I am asking you to look intently into what you are requesting and see where it leads.
The first problem you are facing is believing that the Bible is nothing more than a work of man. However, it is a work beyond man and is not an invention of man. Man participated in its development. God is the author and man the co-author. God being the mysterious Being that it is revealed itself to all of humanity. Man has been recording both the revelation God from God and man's understanding of that God through the centuries. Some cultures are clear in their expression of the revelation of God and some are more obscure. Yet, it is something other than man that is being revealed and recorded. Therefore, your first assumption cannot work in dialogue with the Scriptures because it is the wrong assumption to make.
Secondly, what the Scriptures offer as meaning is not artificial. It is in accord with our natural lives. If it were artificial then it would not be accpted nor be a source of help and solace in the lives of millions who accept it. Therefore, your assumption that it is artificial cannot be in dialogue with the Scriptures because it is the wrong assumption to make.
Thirdly, what you offer as an alternative to the meaning and discipline of the Scriptures is actually nothing. You offer only what you want and do not have the rest of humanity in mind. What is the proof? There is no clear order in what you ask. It is chaos. You offer no absloute truths and traditions that will help guide the next generation. For example, you ask that we live life passionately. Yet, we know from human experience that someone could be passionate about murder, rape, pornography, greed, power, violence etc. etc. So, what are the determinates you have to make sure murder, rape, etc. etc. are generally prevented and governed outside the Scriptures (e.g.) The 10 Commandments, the laws of Christ, "Love God with your whole heart, mind, and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself." And of course the one law that governs these two, "Love one another as I (God) has loved you."
Now you may counter saying, "The Bible obviously is a crutch and does not work because there is war, crimes, and all kinds of injustice in the world. So, it should be discarded."

Just because we fail to adhere to the disciplines of Scripture does not mean the disciplines of Scripture is a failure. It is we that fail to adhere and risk for something better and ordered. If you have not the humility to admit that then what you offer is a delusion. For in your line of thought even "understanding our ignorance" offers no real hope for you have no cure for it (wisdom from God through the Scriptures). Your human wisdom is good, but not fulfilling or as wise as God's. For He made us and we belong to Him. Therefore, God would know better than us how and what our nature is and how and what is needed to aid it. Can what you offer do the same for all eternity? So, I hope you see the Scriptures are more than a work of man and is still pertain to our lives.
I hope this has been helpful. May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.

God's and your beast of burden
Father john

can anyone live passionately without believing on anything? humans are not really that independent..we must accept that but we can never take for granted that we are rational and have the capacity to think independently but as i was saying, we are not independent. something on the past years that happened is the foundation of our belief right now, but come to think about the belief of those people? it also rooted from their very ancestor... and which ultimately end up and start from God.that's for my own point of view.

we cannot just live depending on our own because on the first place, there are people who are ahead of us, those that bring forth each one of us
