we had a massive break up a few months ago, then after not seeing each other for 1 month we saw each other and decided to take it slow and see how things go. but after a bit he seemed a lot less interested and not really bothered anymore, he never made any effort to see me or contact me i got sick of it and had a massive argument with him for not being considerate, we then both decided to split up. he txt me today saying he had been looking at some memories he has of us and said we had a really good time & its a shame things didnt work out. whats that mean? i txt him back and he didnt bother replying

It sounds like he's a jerk & you should move on with your life.
It seems like he's playing games with you. I think you're better off just moving on & living your own life. Don't even bother sending him any txt's anymore & don't read his if he writes you. Learn from your mistakes! If it didn't work the times you've tried previously then it's best to let things go.

It sounds like he's unsure that splitting up was a good idea.
My solution:
Take a step back and let him decide what to do. You may find yourself in his arms before too long. Maybe 1 month just wasn't long enough. It could be worse than that, though. It could be a parting shot, leading me to think that the ignorance and apathy previously displayed could have been linked with severe depression.

This relationship is in the past, your time is better spent on moving forward than trying to decipher what he means when he does communicate with you.
If it's something you really want to know then ask him in person, don't text him because it's so much easier to have that standoffish element. And if he doesn't comply then that is your answer. Do not feed into uncertainty.

Difficult maybe he's just playing with your emotions, or trying to make his ego bigger by gettin you to admit u still care? On the other hand he could genuinely miss you, but if he didn't answer your text that's just rude.
