I guess you may have a pigeon mess on your hands. Bummer. A cheap cloth screen could be draped over the opening for easy access to you. Here is one source with information. http://langleywirecloth.com/wire.htm You can probably find this at Home Depot or Lowe's. A noisy wind chime would work but the pigeons probably will get used to it and invade once more. No more bird poop. Now that's a good thing.

The answer i have seen is to use old socks and fill the end with mothballs. Then use the end of the sock and tie it to the rafters. You have to do this every 10 feet or so but i've been told that the birds then avoid the area.

Hang a windchime or a pie plate from the upper frame of the door. The shiny movement will scare them away.

hang a hawk statue at your shed it is very important that you move it around every other day use a hawk not a owl
