I'm getting married May24, 08 downtown New Orleans. I will be having a lot of out of town guests plus all of our friends will get a hotel room after being on Bourbon. I'm trying to lock in rooms and have been checking on prices. What is the most you would pay to stay at a hotel for a wedding?

I've never been to a wedding where we paid less than 150 and my sisters wedding was 250 a night. Alot of times places will give you a discounted rate if you reserve a block of rooms, so be aware of that too. As cheap as you can get it, without it being not so nice is what I would look for, but people have different budgets some may be able to afford more for a room while others not so much. I would choose one hotel, reserve the block of rooms, but I would also include a list of alternate hotels in the envelope ranging from Motel 6 to Holiday Inn to a Hyatt, and let your guests decide where they want to stay.

I don't know about N.O. but in NJ a typical hotel room would be about 2 to 300 per night. I had to go to a wedding in Newport Rhode Island 500 bucks a night HA! yeah needless to say I didn't make it to that one specifically because of the hotel price. It's retarded. Try to find a holiday inn or something, nice rooms for under 200. Good luck

Depends on the location. I would expect around $100 would be enough to get me a decent room for a night and make sure it has a free breakfast. Lunch/Dinner and entertainment are taken care of so I don't think it neccessary to break the bank for something fantastic. Holiday Inn should work.

It depends on the location. I've paid $65 a night, and I've paid $300. Whenever possible, if I have friends coming to the same wedding we try to share a room to split the cost.

You picked Memorial weekend. Be prepared for higher prices.

Don't know about your city. However, around $100 would be appropriate. People can down- or up-scale, if they wish.
