Alrighty, here's how it goes...

Start by mixing the whole milk in with formula about 3/4 formula 1/4 milk for a couple days then half and half for a few days to allow for a gentle transition on the tummy.

After that about 4-6 oz. in a sippy cup (or bottle if you haven't introduced a cup yet) along with every meal and about 6-8 oz before bed is generally a good guideline to go by. You may need to adjust more or less depending on what your child needs, but by one year the majority of his nutrition should come from his food.

Hope this helps!

You should introduce milk into the formula. Start adding one ounce into the bottle with formula for about a week, then go to 2-3 Oz's. Babies digestive systems are not mature so introducing things like milk slowly will be easier for their systems. Also, you will be able to see if there is any type of negative reaction this way.

AUGH........
Horrid advice on here!!

To answer your question simply:
16oz or 2 cups per day is appropriate. Whole milk, no 2%. Keep the whole milk til age 2, then switch to lower fat.

If you want to start the transition, you can. Our pediatrician told us to water the whole milk down 50/50 for a week, then 75/25 for a week, then straight whole milk. She has a 5 week transition to whole milk that she does. But she always says to NEVER mix the milk and the formula. There is NO need to do that.

Good luck!!!

The Brian dude is wrong...I would say a little less than half a cup. P.S. Home-schooling stats show that homeschoolers have a better potential to getting into college. Just 2 let you know..

I wouldn't feed my child on whole milk yet until he/she reaches 7 years old. Each child's appetite is different. I fed my son whole milk once and he had diarrhoea. I suggest you stick to formula milk ... his/her health is every parents' main concern. Spend a little more to save you from unnecessary time and money loss on medical.
