I just recently got my labret pierced and at first I noticed that since my lower lip was swollen it was hard to press my lips together or lick them. Now a few weeks later my upper and lower lips are chapped/swollen and I now have tiny flesh colored bumps that sting/burn especially when I eat something sour or vinegary. No matter how much carmex or lip gloss I keep on them it does not help. And sometimes when I wake up in the morning my lips feel like they are flaking off...HELP!!

Do you know what type of metal they used to do the piercing? You may be allergic to it. I had my navel done and I had to remove it because I was allergic to it. It was surgical steel. The piercing would not heal, would be really dry on the top, but inside was all infected. Make sure you are not allergic. Good luck!

Vaseline? Or you could try exfoliating to remove rough skin. Also if you have a ring then they are more likely to get chapped. I am unsure why but when i wore a ring ming became alot dryer? Hope that was of some help.

You're allergic to the nickel in the metal. Take out the piercing.

Dang... that doesn't sound good. Is the piercing healing ok? Either way, you may want to get it checked by a doctor in case it is an infection.
