You should ask your friends to introduce you to him. That's exactly the kind of things that good friends do. I wouldn't worry too much about how you approach him. If he's worth a crap, he'll be cool if you just walk up and introduce yourself to him. I would steer clear of fawning over his music too much though. Try not to come off as a groupie and just establish the fact that you are cool, attractive, and that you've got your stuff together.
