They're supposed to be bad. It is food that has been in the oven or frig all day long. Leftovers aren't good at home so why would they be good on a ship? And no, it's not just you, midrats are always bad. It's still better than Army food!!

Sorry but the Navy cooks mess with everyone's chow.
I too was in the Navy and it didn't matter Marines or not.
They couldn't cook but 2 good meals a years.
Christmas and Easter.

I doubt it since the Jarheads eat the same thing the rest of the crew eats.
That's one of the reasons I liked the submarine force so well. We ate the same thing the officers ate and vice versa.
