We recently just received a new principal at my high school and I am writing him an email asking to repeat my senior year. I am currently doing a foreign exchange during my senior year, but I won't feel satisfied in life if I don't graduate from my high school. I have talked to my high school counselor and she said that there could be a problem because of a state law in Utah. I have written an email but have not sent it and would appreciate any tips or advise that you have to offer. Also if you have any suggestions as to what to write in the 'subject' area of the email that would be great too. Thanks for your help.

To whom it may concern:
Since we have never formally met allow me to give a brief introduction of myself. My name is David Clark, I am 17 and I attended Olympus High School for my sophomore and junior year. Ever year I try a new and different exciting experience; I played on the football team my sophomore year, was a member of the swim team my junior year, and I am currently doing a Foreign Exchange this year. I am writing to express my desire to fulfill my senior year at Olympus High School for the 2007-2008 school year. I am currently studying abroad as a Rotary Foreign Exchange Student in Cagliari, Italy. Although I believe this experience has taught me more than any textbook, I do not feel satisfied academically. In Italy, I study at a classical high school, which specializes in Greek, Latin, and Literature. I am glad to have had the opportunity to study these subjects, however I do not believe they are preparing me for college in the United States.

I would appreciate your support on this matter, as I believe the key to success in the future is a strong foundation now, a foundation I will undoubtedly find from Olympus High School.
Please let me know any thing I can do in order to make this process easier. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can begin to plan my final year in Utah.
Sincerely,
David Clark
