If I understand correctly the reason why we can feel alone sometimes even when we are actively involved romantically with another person is complex. Sometimes it means we are not getting everything we need from our partner. Maybe there is a lack of love, companionship, or sexual closeness. Its often hard to put our finger on the cause of the emptiness.

Because life can be really hard.......and you are born alone and you die alone and it's hard to forget that! People can be right next to you but they don't keep your spirit company so you can feel even more lonely even with someone right there.....but there are some people in this world...friends/partners/family who can make you feel so much less alone...it just takes some special people :-)

Because sometimes they don't bother to show their love or something else is going on in the other person's lives that they don't give you attention...

Because we are yearning for something that we want. It could be good friends, happy relations or just a friend to talk to.

well, i think that its because nobody understand us, sometimes we don't talk/we don't have anyone 2 talk with, who knows, i do, because i've experienced that before

i wish i knew... maybe because we feel like no one understands us because not even you can understand yourself. maybe because you try to call someone and theyre not home...?
