1. A CD (mixed w/some of his favorite songs - or store bought).
2. A poster
3. A computer game - if she knows what he likes
4. Action figures - Spiderman, Star Wars, Super Man (my husband's 28 and still loves these).
5. A gift card to his favorite store
6. A shirt

Tell her she's only 12 and doesn't know what a "boyfriend" is yet and that at her age she shouldn't be committing herself to a boy. She shouldn't be getting him anything for his birthday, especially since she can't spend her own money on it and I'm sure y'alls parents wouldn't want to waste money on such a thing.
The most she should get him would be a card.

Tell her to go out for a fun B-day dinner and give him something small from Sharper Image - boys always love those things!

Maybe something neutral like a CD would be appropriate? Because 12 is young, and a CD is something you'd give a friend, and it doesn't cost very much.

At this age I think appropriate gifts are Cd's, video games, sports equipment (footballs, soccer balls, new baseball glove, etc..) it depends on what he's into. I dated a girl when I was in 6th grade and I bought her the Matchbox20 CD. She loved it.

Tell her to get him a watch if he doesnt have one, or something that he would like, maybe a hat with his favorite sports team on it, or something of that sort. It is not unusual for your sister to have a boyfriend and want to get him something for his birthday...
