To persevere means to go through the tough times. If you put it in Gods hands, that means you are trusting Him with the outcome. So in order to properly persevere you must put things in Gods hands.

When you persevere is the only time that God will put His grace on you. When you quit or go against His commands , He will not be there. God's hands strengthen those who try to achieve things in the right way. When you do not make actions or you make actions not in accordance with His teachings or commands, you may not receive His grace. You may fail in what you are doing or if you succeed, chances are it will not last.

Jesus said "Ask, and ye shall receive. Knock and it shall be opened unto you." He never said it'd be easy, that we'd only have to ask once or knock once.
Sometimes God shows us a door that is already open. Sometimes He shows us a door and tells us to tear it off the hinges.
There are things that are put in God's hands for His work. Then there are things we put in God's hands, and are reminded that ours are His hands.

You gotta pick up your cross and walk on in faith that he'll handle it for you, it's easier said than done.
Sometimes we lay the burden at his feet, then take it back, then lay it down, then take it back.
It's only human. But when I leave it in his hands and wait on his deliverance of it.... it's always the best course!
