i like this guy and sometimes i get the feeling that he likes me back, but he has recently told me that hes given up on love and all that...well me and this guy have done things in the past so i know im not completelly ugly to him or anything. but i wonder now if i should keep crushing or if its just a hint to not bother cuz he doesnt want to date me...opinions please

hONESTY honesty is key. have an honest conversation. jsut sit down with him and speak frankly and figure out why no one is ever satisfied with jsut walking away, but maybe if you have a reason it will be easier to fogive and forget. try it. it might work

Well im a guy so i can tell you that is probably a line. Which could mean that he is interested and is only saying he is done to see what you will do. I would say just go for it and see what happens. You have nothing to lose because friendships rarely lasts if you have a crush and the other person does not. Plus if you have already done things in the past then you are way past "crushing" your going to have to step it up some.

Might mean nothing at all. I know a lot of guys who I talk with sometimes and they tell me their problems and whenever they can't get this girl that they like they go with the whole "i gave up on love," speech, but then a couple of hours later they're back again and after someone else or even the same girl. Might mean nothing at all.

HE'S USING YOU!!!!!!! Him saying he's given up on love is his polite yet pathetic way of saying he's not interested. Yet he's perfectly OK with playing games with your heart by being physical with you and sending mixed messages. Cut off ties with this guy, he's a jerk disguised as a "tortured soul".

I think you should just forget about him he his given you a clue that he does not want to date you when he was saying i have given up on love, forget about him and move on you will find a guy bettert han him.

just leave him becuz i don't think he likes you again, there are a lot more guys for you and as you said you are good looking and seems to be an intelligent woman, so make yourself open to some people and leave him alone in his misery.
