What I want to know is, Are there other people on YA that are so radically sold out for Jesus that you do care what other people think about you?
Before I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, I lived life to the fullest. Sex, drugs and violence was a part of my every day life. Now I live just as hard, only the drugs and violence are gone, and I only have sex with my wife.
There is nothing at all short of sin that I would not do if it would lead people to Jesus, how about you???????

I thought I made it clear that I would do anything SHORT OF SIN (without sinning), and yet some think I am advocating sin. Come on people read the whole thing before you respond.

I know very well that the spirit does the drawing, but there are some people that will not pay attention unless you do some pretty radical things to get their attention. I want to know if you are willing to do those radical things!!!!

Same here even if it cost me my life i would pray that God would give me the ability to bring others to a knowledge of christ. After all this life is short. God bless you and may you have a great day.

I agree with your sentiment.

However, I think you're looking at things the wrong way. You're presuming that YOU are going to do something to win people for Christ. In fact, it's the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will decide IF and WHEN you are to be used in the master plan, and even HOW you'll be used.

When YOU come up with ideas on what YOU'RE going to do to convert people, several things happen:

1. It doesn't always give the glory to God.
2. It presumes that you know better than the Holy Spirit what and how things should be done.
3. It can lead to disappointment if your timeline for results doesn't match God's.

I would encourage you to follow the example of Christ, who first developed relationships with people, and then, only after the relationship had been forged, did he start talking about sin and salvation.

As for me, I stand ready to do whatever God calls me to do, whenever God calls me to do it. But I would never be so bold as to say, "THIS is what I'm going to do for God." Rather, I'm going to let God say, "Scott, this is what I have for you to do."

Wow this is a tough question. I don't think it would happen that way if you are leading someone to Jesus while sinning it sort of sets a bad example, not that it hasn't been done.
I mean sometimes you judge others while leading people to Jesus which is a sin to judge. I guess it stands to reason that you could sin and get others to believe because we are only human but typically I wouldn't call it good practice on an average. Trying not to sin while leading people to Jesus is something to strive for. Where there is a will there is a way.
I would try to look for a way not to sin and lead them to Jesus.
If they are positive in their volition, they will see.

But it is a sin to judge people, and to lead them to Jesus you have to judge them as wrong in their religious views first, so obviously your whole "short of sin" thing is off, isn't it?

"Let's lie for Jesus." The end justifies the means.
