It's not in the Bible, JC
There are rumors that our friend Pastor Russell actually became a Freemason and thus the world will never really know why he did all of the crazy things he did.

i'm no longer with the JWs, yet I do have extreme appreciate for Charles Taze Russell. in view that Russell isn't buried below a pyramid, the question is irrelevant. The pyramid monument replaced into equipped a number of years after Russell died; Russell's body isn't below the pyramid. The monument replaced into equipped in the approach the WTS plot in the cemetery. Rutherford claimed that Russell had made plans to construct that pyramid, yet Russell under no circumstances wrote something about progression this kind of pyramid. The progression of this kind of pyramid looks to in good structure more advantageous with the nature of Rutherford than it does with Russell. (a minimum of there is no longer something in his prevalent writings about progression this kind of pyramid.) Russell replaced into no longer the founding father of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He did not believe in such an authoritarian corporation. the great Pyramid isn't pagan. Russell did not base any date on the measurements of the great Pyramid, yet somewhat he depending the dates on the Bible. The GP in person-friendly words confirms the dates. so some distance as i be conscious of, the WTS nonetheless owns the plot in Rosemont Cemetery.

Actually, he is not buried UNDER it, but down a driveway that is located a few yards from it. Note these directions from the Centenial brochure for those who desire to visit his grave:
"9. UNITED CEMETERY. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not revere burial places, but some desire to visit the Watch Tower Society’s burial plot where C. T. Russell was buried. Turn right off Perrysville Avenue on to Cemetery Lane. The United Cemetery is the last cemetery on this road. A few yards beyond the replica of a pyramid is a driveway that takes one near the Society’s plot."

The "Bible Students" back then also celebrated x-mas. The more they studied the bible, the more they realized that holidays were full of paganism and and also the origin of the cross. So if he was buried under a pyramid, that was just another pagan symbol that not long after his death they realized that it was pagan and should not be included in christian worship. The x-mas tree also comes from the Egyptian pyramid. It took a while to cleanse themselves of all the tradition and doctrines of men and to only depend on the bible.

First of all, he is not our founder. Where do you get this stuff?
Second, I wouldn't know. It's not like we go to the grave site and worship him or anything. What difference would it make.
"The gravesite is marked by both a headstone, and an eight-foot tall pyramid memorial gifted from friends of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society in 1924."
That's so long ago. Give it a rest.

Why so bitter everyone knows you once was a Jehovah's Witness. Why do you keep trying to deny it? You keep on the Jehovah's Witnesses with a vengeance since you quit them. What is your problem?

Well I recall reading an article about Russell being big in the occult, Eygptian gods were speaking to him and giving him "prophecies" and 'divine revelation' all which of course turn out to be nothing but a lie. I'm not sure something about numerology too trying to discover 'hidden' meanings of numbers. Weird.
So, with that little bit of knowledge (sorry can't track down article via internet to post for you) I'd say that his love for the occult and all things Eygpt--that wouldn't be too hard to understand why he had a pyramid atop his grave.

Why do you keep on the Jehovah Witnesses? Why do you know so much about them? Because you was once one of them that's why. What did they do to you? Come on tell us.
