I'm renovating in the kitchen. It's a single bedroon apartment and I live by myself. I've got a dishwasher. Will I be sorry if I don't put in a double sink? A large sink is so nice for soaking the roaster or lasagna pan in.

it depends if you are the kind of person who always does dishes right away. If you don't and leave some things undone, you'll want the 2nd sink to use to fill up coffee pot, etc.

Since you've got the dishwasher you can probably get away with just one sink. A double sink is great if there are some dirty dishes in the sink, you still have a separate sink to use. But if you have the dishwasher and are good at getting the dishes right into it (unlike my hubby), then the one sink would be enough.

Even if you decide to go with two, there are double sinks out on the market where you have one big sink and one small one, so you don't have to sacrifice size for a double sink.

The second sink is basically for rinsing so if you don't have the space for a large and smaller sink, go with the large and get a dishpan for rinsing that you can put on the counter. If you always use the dishwasher, then the rinse pan is not needed.

Since you seem to have more use for a large sink, go with that. And get a smaller plastic tub for when you hand-wash your dishes.

Enjoy your new kitchen!

I prefer 2 sinks personally but I think it's kind of just a personal preference.

I'd be lost without my 2nd bowl on my sink. You can get one with a larger bowl and a smaller/narrower bowl. You can also get on that is quite deep that will fit your roaster.

I have had both, and I prefer two sinks.
but it is up to you of course.
I do see your point about having more room to soak things.
