My mom has suffered a terrible stroke and I work full time and have 2 step kids and have to visit my mom every day I am exhaustet, does anyone know if it is possible for me to ask my work for time off ? (in the uk)

Either- ask for compassionate leave or talk to your doctor about how stressed things are getting and ask for a sick note.

at my work one of our reasons for time off is family necessity
meaning someone in your family is ill. You may have to take a note from your moms Dr. but that shouldn't be a problem.
I don't know if you get paid our not but check and see.

Yes just ask ur boss nicely, or write a letter to him that is exagerrated- it works

in my work we get 2 weeks paid special leave and then unpaid leave check with human resources in your work they should be able to help
